My Approach

What to expect
Every course of therapy is different and your therapy will be unique to you. We will discuss your concerns and begin to build a therapeutic relationship, a confidential and contained space intended for your benefit. Many people experience immediate relief from beginning talk therapy, followed by a more complex range of emotions. People say healing is not always linear, and it's true.
What I bring
I often take a psychodynamic approach to the past, meaning that I believe you are shaped by the traumas and experiences of your early life, and that understanding the impacts of these is often key for symptom relief and an integrated sense of self.
I hold an experiential approach in the present, meaning that I am interested in what you are thinking and feeling now, no matter how relevant it may or may not seem. Relating in the present is a large part of therapy.
I often bring a transpersonal approach to the sessions, meaning that I am attuned to the collective unconscious, the zeitgeist or 'field', and the unknown unknown--essentially the larger-than-individual forces at play in our psyches.
